Another crazy day. Dropped off Abbe’s car at the shop this morning, so Mr. Mom has double driving duty today. I am hoping to get some work done. On the good news front… after 3 days, I am already over 60% of the way to my fundraising goal for the Philly Marathon!
Why I am running the Philadelphia Marathon… for Abbe Meck and all those that suffer from seizure disorders on behalf of the Epilepsy Therapy Project. Please donate if you can… http://goo.gl/k685P
I am running for my fiancee, Abbe Meck. Abbe is the amazing person that gave me the courage to run my first marathon in honor of her cousin Alayna two years ago. At the conclusion of the 2011 Disney Marathon, I had a surprise for Abbe – I proposed to her immediately after crossing the finish line and she accepted!
This past January, we were getting ready to take on an even bigger challenge, the Goofy Challenge – a half and full marathon on consecutive days. The day before the half marathon, Abbe suffered two grand mal seizures. The second of which meant she was kept for observation and not cleared to run with me during the half. I had to run for the first time without my running partner. I ran those 13.1 miles angry and upset at her seizures for taking my girl away from me that day. Amazingly, Abbe was cleared to run the full marathon the next day and we finished happy and healthy.
I tell everyone that my 39.3 miles is nothing compared to what Abbe accomplished.
I am running for Abbe and everyone who has had their lives affected by seizure disorders. Please give if you can and share your friends and family on Facebook, Twitter, email, everywhere!
Boy, oh boy, the Flyers better be limbering up their golf swinging muscles, because they are getting beat soundly by a better team. I think there are more injuries than what is being reported – Grossmann, Hartnell, and Couturier for sure. Grossmann just hasn’t been the same since his concussion in the Pittsburgh series, and I’m guessing that he would not be playing if they had more options on the blueline.
I’m not hopping off the band wagon at all – I’ll be rooting as hard as I normally do for my beloved orange and black during game 5. And who knows, we steal one at home, maybe Lavy figures some way to pull more forwards down low to help our slow-footed defenseman out with that amazing cycle game… we could climb back into this. It’s playoff hockey, anything can happen.
OK, back to work… I’ve got a slew of projects that need a little nudge to get across the finish line. Time to get back to nudging…
Movie Reviews…
30 Minutes or Less – Dear people that made this film, Comedies are supposed to be funny. I don’t find Danny McBride remotely funny… at all. Nick Swardson was pretty good though.
