Took my little buddy to Chick-Fila last night and he had a breakthrough. He made it all the way up the slide and climbed into the blue ball spaceship thingy. He got stuck in a similar playground one time at McDonald’s a few months ago and my then pregnant wife had quite a time trying to get him out. But I’m proud to say he conquered his fear of fast food plastic playgrounds.

Finally got my RSS feed back up, the Exploding Cigar feed died and was causing an error on the page, but now, all is well.

No compositional work done last night, but I did burn 4 more CDs to be sent out to today to WRAS (Atlanta, GA), WREK (Atlanta, GA). KCR (San Diego, CA), and WXCY(Chapel Hill, NC). I think that will be my plan mail out 4 CDs a week to college stations. Now, I want to find a contact at either a university with a strong film program or some sort of independant film group. If you know anything about either one of these, please IM or email me.

Tonight, I’d like to write a transitional part for That Black Line of Sparrows, once that is done I can begin work on structure and guitar parts.

Uncomfortable night last night. My Mother-in-law and wife had a pretty good fight, everything has been resolved, but I’m dealing with all kinds of new dynamics in my home right now – two kids, oh excuse me…two SICK kids, wife recovering from birth, back to work after the long break, and a diabetic mother-in-law that worries us with possible insulin shock and lows as much as either one of our kids being sick. I cooked hamburgers, french fries, and made a damn fine cuccumber salad for dinner.

I need to get the RSS feeds back and I’m going to launch a link submission interface too. I want to make the content on my page fresh, but also I want to preserve the blogness of this thingy too.

History of the Internet.

Man oh man did I make some weird music last night – think Chick Corea on 45 cups of coffee trying to write music for a cartoon that consists of Ren & Stimpy trying to come down off of some bad acid.

Didn’t get time to work on my new track, but that’s ok, I want to soak up that groove some more and figure out what direction to sail this ship.

Waiting on Cyro-Effergy to do a couple alterations to Autophobia before I lay guitars. Should be getting their Reason file today at some point.

Turns out I sold 7 CDs last month – which is decent, I need to conjure up some new methods of promoting this disc. I think it’s definitely good, but since I don’t have any aspirations of playing live, it’s kinda tough and also this music is not exactly mass-consumable (which I am 100% happy with!). I think establishing a connection with some college radio stations or if at all possible get a foot in the door with Jon Aielli at KUT.

Home Alone Day Fourteen : Did nothing productive at all last night aside from taking out trash and doing dishes. Yogi woke me up at 4:30am this morning and I have this affliction that if I get work up, I never can get back to sleep again. On the bright side, I am an extremely heavy sleeper, so it’s pretty hard to get me up, but once I’m up, I’m screwed.

[Note: Supah Pete just pointed out my interesting grammar above, today I'm apparently talking like Tarzan, so bear with me]

Damn Flyers didn’t close it out last night – but man, the NHL playoffs are the greatest championship in pro sports IMHO, the first round series have been awesome. Tonight 3 (!) game sevens <insert Homer Simpson drooling sound effect here>

Going to dedicate more time to working on the whole Java-SQL thingy today. I’ve finally gotten to the good stuff in my .NET book, XML and ADO.NET – now I’m getting myself prepared to get all this blog into an XML file (one for each month I think to make loading the page easier).

I’ve got a new idea cooked up (haven’t laid anything down yet, it’s all in my head). Hopefully I’ll have something to show the class tomorrow.

Nina Simone, the “High Priestess of Soul” died, very sad day – such a brilliant voice.

Home Alone Day 6ix : I did good, got lots of stuff done this weekend, VW oil change, VW inspected, got home studio 100% working and recording, worked out, got out in the sunshine, played with Yogi, avoided watching Wiggles videos.

I need to get cracking on the XML portion of this website, I’m kind of getting complacent with .NET right now.

Ahhhhh, that’s so much better. Spent several hours this weekend getting my OmniStudio and Motif working together. Got Sonar 2.2 XL installed, and I’m officially recording music again, encoding to MP3 – what I’ve been wanting to do for 2 years! Stay tuned, I’ve got a preview MP3 I’ll post later today, it’s by no means a finished product, but it will give you a rough sketch of what I’m up to.

Apparently Moon-men (or is this Swedish?) like hockey fights too, the Tony Twist compilation is classic ‘roid rage fun with the Twister. Dropdagloves, a fellow hockey fight fan, made a little compilation website of where you can find lots and lots of hockeyfights.

Tummy is all better, it’s amazing what 15 hours of sleep can do for you. As I left work early yesterday, I was watching the skies for that vulture to swoop down on me…he might have sensed my sickliness.

A little further in the .NET book, still in the get up to speed sections, but XML is in the next chapter, so it’s gettin’ to the good parts.

I’m still mystified about using compiled code with .NET on my web server, I’m posting a question to the newsgroups today though.
