NLCS Baby
Although the Eagles dropped another game they should have won, the Phils 100% redeemed the sports weekend for me by advancing to the NLCS. Pat Burrell apparently was having a homerun derby by himself yesterday. Joe Blanton pitched a hell of a game. Next up, the Dodgers… bring it LA.

That game was amazing. It was great to see Burrell hitting again. Now we just need to get Utley hitting by Thursday when Torre brings his boys to Philly. Don’t you find it funny that Torre leaves the Yankees and his new team is in the playoffs? And where were my Yankees this year??? Hell, I didn’t even follow them this year…

Van – I’ve never felt that living in the same city, county, state, etc. is a good enough reason to “root” or as you so eloquently put it “rout” for a particular team. I guess I found a better reason to defect to the Phils and his name is…I think you know!

I got the dreaded letters home today in the backbacks. “Students will celebrate Phillies Day October 9th. Instead of school uniforms wear Phillies gear or red/white.”. IT’S A CURSE! I’m all sports-superstitious like that.
