Viv and I pretending to pedal really, really hard (or poop on our bikes)
Bubs, Viv, and I headed out for our first big bike ride as a family last night after Bubs finished his homework. We rode out to Yogi’s swimming hole and then down to 3 Beach. Here’s a shot of Viv and Bubs by Yogi’s swimming hole… gotta love Viv’s jammies/bike helmet/pink hoodie/purple sequined shoes look…
Bubs took this shot of Viv and I pretending to pedal really, really hard (or poop on our bikes)… I’ve gotta photo shop this into a Tour de France picture…
We read a new book last night, A Day’s Work. I’m really enjoying reading books that are outside the normal WASPy reading list lately (Big, Spooky, House, Bigmamma’s, Fly Away Home, Shortcut, and The Wall) – lots of great lessons and it gives my kids new perspectives in our storytime.
Movie reviews…
Body of Lies – it’s somewhat sad that in this age of film making, I assume a movie like Body of Lies is going to suck de facto. Most favorable action movie reviews start with, “better than expected” or “not as bad as _____”. This was a decent spy thriller and [insert your favorable action movie cliche here].
Knowing – this was like an M. Night Shyamalan movie except something actually happens and you don’t feel intellectually raped at the end of it. A surprisingly good film with a surprisingly bad ending.

Hey, if Lance can’t do the Tour now that he has a spectacularly broken collarbone, maybe you and Viv can sub in.

I’m loving the pj’s because there comes a point in your life where you just can’t go out in public dressed like that anymore. I know because I’ve tried.

Hailing from a country where cycling is a national top sport, I can totally relate.
We all bike, and we all aim to win the Tour de France -
loved the “I’m in pain, but getting there” shot

When my daughter was six, she got wayyyyy into the UNICEF books about kids around the world, profiling their lives and circumstances with really great, bright pictures. We read nothing but these books for three months. Example: http://www.amazon.com/Life-Like-Mine-UNICEF/dp/1405314605/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1238203355&sr=1-1
