I got home from work and recorded myself reading a bunch of books as part of Daddy Reads Vol 3 for the kids (Pssst! – very artistic and decent, but doesn’t really translate to a good reading story, Sheep in a Jeep – short and silly, but good, In the Fiddle is a Song – really liked this book, great message). I was kind of thinking of posting some of these video clips on YouTube, who knows maybe some other kids might like them too. I fixed an issue with the administration for zeropercentcards v2, dropped the invocation code for OpenX into the ZPC v2 pages, and put up a new promo for my favorite battleship – Breakfast with Santa on the Battleship NJ. Waiting for me on my doorstep was an unexpected box of super yummy hard boiled egg cookies from radioactive girl – thanks Tori!

Mom stopped over with some fabric to reupholster the love seat (which used to be in my grandmother’s home in Atlanta) that sits in front of my fire place. Mom and I then went to Zinc Cafe for a bottle of wine and a damn tasty meal. Mom and I were happy to see the restaurant packed on a rainy night.

I’ve got three guitar lessons to teach tonight and I really need to send out those Hush Now CDs from the contest (and contact the winners for their addresses).

Look what I found in the bathroom at work…

Oh and I nearly forgot… my friend Meredith went to see New Kids On The Block last night…

I was thinking the same thing as MamaT… eww!

  3.  Apertome Says:

I have to admit, hard boiled egg cookies sound weird. Then again, I don’t care for hard boiled eggs … do they have chunks of hard boiled egg, right there in the cookie?

I’m glad you got to spend some quality time with your mom. I miss living right across town from my mom …

Sheep in a Jeep was one of my kids’ favorite books when they were little. We won’t discuss how the library copy wound up in the swimming pool…

NKOTB… really??? Oh hell I cant say much a friend of mine and I are likely going to see Duran Duran this month to live out our pre-teen dream of seeing them live. More power to ya, Meredith! WOO HOO! Certainly looks as though she had fun…. ;-)

Love the ‘potty’ book! Love Wal-Mart Bingo even more… but the BEST THING EVER is the Letters From Johns blog. OMG, my work day is now totally shot cuz I’ll be reading that friggin thing all day. Brilliant. I’m such a sucker for crap like that… thanks for sharing! :)

Oh and you should totally post your vids on YouTube for other kids to enjoy. Plus your kiddos can go to school and talk about how cool their Dad is and how you are like famous n stuff! AWESOME. :)

I’m so glad you got them! They don’t taste at all like eggs, right? Just like regular cookies?

Sheep In a Jeep is one of my favorites. I bet I could say it from memory if I wanted to because we read it so much. Even now my 10 year old will pull it out and giggle while looking through it.

And seriously? New Kids on the Block? Awesome!

tori – these cookies are awesome, but i am going to tell anyone that comes over that they are poisoned.

  13.  Kiki Says:

Now I’m going to the potty potty! Yes I’m going to the potty potty.

Love that song for potty training. I think NKOTB sang it.

  14.  furiousBall Says:

Kiki – I want to cover that song and teach it to my guitar students

  15.  Megan Says:

I have watched ‘He Loves a Fat Girl’ 53 times and it still hasnt’ gotten old. Put those reading videos on youtube…yes yes!!! My kids would get a kick out of that. Your employer should play “pee pee on the potty” on the overhead for employees. Now, can Tori please explain what a hard boiled egg cookie is? They sure look yummy.

  16.  furiousBall Says:

Megan – the recipe is linked in the link i have up there, there are probably more links linking from that link.

    link.

  17.  Granola-grrrl Says:

I, too, got immersed reading the Letters From Johns… fascinating stuff. Kind of like reading PostSecret. And the Fat Girl video? I *still* don’t have the words for it. It’s like a train wreck…

I think posting your book-reading videos would be fun, and maybe it will give other parents (or grandparents, even) the idea to do some too.

Granola-grrrl – I think train wrecks are slightly offended you compared them to that video.

I’m slightly (but only slightly) amazed noticing that women love to send you
amazing stuff in the mail Van, or even deliver it personally.

An unexpected box of super yummy hard boiled egg cookies would make the
evening news in this rain-swept Belgian town.

    @Tori: you’d be welcomed like a the new-and-improved Santa
(I admit, it’s kind of early in the season, but still ;-) )
