baby down, baby down!
Yesterday was great. I got a lot done, not everything, but definitely enough to feel sated. I ran my errands and got all my supplies to seal the front and back porches this weekend and tar a couple of areas on the roof this weekend. After work, I got a really good 3 mile run in and was greeted by Meredith, CJ (my little buddy guitar student/rock star) and Layla on my cool-down walk home. Meredith hung out and drank wine in the playroom with her little girl, while CJ and I rocked out. I taught him the single note version of Stir it Up by Bob Marley. After the lesson, CJ got in some time on Bubba’s drums, Abbe arrived, and we had fun watching little Layla (18 months – I think) push Viv’s baby dolls around in a stroller… and drop them out onto the floor and exclaim “oh no! baby down!”.
I went over to Mom’s for dinner and we talked to Van and Viv. I read stories to both of them and it was nice seeing Mom have some time to talk to two of her grandkids. Now, if you don’t follow me on Twitter or my various other spots in the Web 2.0 world, I got some awesome news yesterday – my kids are going to be with me for the entire Christmas holiday! I am so excited. It’s a really nice gesture by my ex, she knew it was my family’s first Christmas without Dad and I am so grateful to be able to have this time with my kids.
Fair warning though…, if you come to my house during this time and there’s snow on the ground, the three V’s are gonna put snow down your pants.
After dinner at Mom’s I headed home and proceeded to fall asleep on the couch watching 88 Minutes, which was a big dumb thriller – seemed kinda good, but with typical Hollywood crappy dialog.
- The Zombie Apocalypse in Legos – thanks Chris
- Youtube, now in Super HD
- Half Time Basketball Creighton University – (thanks Doug) that’s a slinky I think
- A New Candidate – thanks Abbe

kat – i can’t hardly wait
Chris – you bring that boogie to this dance floor and you will get snow in your dancin’ pants

Ok, slinky dude was awesome! The kids and I were impressed and I will NOT be visiting you during Christmas but I will expect to enjoy it via pictures
less snow in britches that way.
I totally heard that baby down line in a Mike Myers’ Scottish accent,
“We’ve got a baby doon, I repeat, a baby is doon.”

(I am also not going to subject myself to snowy pants, but instead will enjoy photos from afar)

Happy Christmas to come! You need to do up that house with every cheesy decoration you can get your hands on…and make cookies with the kids to put out for Santa.
My 4 yr. old is home from school today with a cold and loved the ‘dancing slinky’.

Isn’t Layla a little young to be drinking wine?
Great news about having the kids for Christmas. I’ll watch out for my pants, since we’ll nearly be within snowball-throwing range.

Just as long as it’s not yellow snow. *Word to the wise, it’s not lemon flavored.
*And shouldn’t that saying go, “Word to the stupid?”

That’s the best gift you could have gotten for Christmas – I’m pleased to read you can spend the holidays with the ones you love.
As for all the Web 2.0 social sites: been there, did not find many locals from Antwerp, Belgium –
decided to waited for the new-and-totally-improved Web 3.0 networking sites
