Amazon recommends man on man love

Ok, I love Amazon’s recommends feature, I find a lot of the foreign films that I have come to enjoy and books that perhaps I wouldn’t find from this handy tool. But yesterday something showed up in my recommended items and it made me feel a little uneasy… I mean Johnny’s a handsome guy and all, but I’m … you know, down with the ladies.

  1. I thought I left a comment here this morning, but I don’t see it so I will try again.

I have been buying a bunch of books about puberty for my son so I get all sorts of goofy recommendations from Amazon.

I am not crazy about Johnny now, but a bunch of years ago I loved him.

  2. You know, it’s not so much they’re recommending the Johnny Dep thing as the fact that they are recommending it based on stuff you’ve already bought. Just sayin’

  3. Hmm, you can deny all you want, Van, but your Amazon recs cannot tell a lie!

Hmm, you haven’t shown up in my bloglines or google reader for the past two days… ?

  4. I know a lot of men with “man-crushes” on Johnny. I don’t know if that’s good or bad…

I just spent the last 10 minutes laughing my ass off while reading those resume bloopers. I don’t know if that’s good or bad….

  5. hey marty.. who doesn’t

And Amazon thinks I’m a Manga fan who likes the Slow Food Revolution and Sexy Nuns and Dorothea Benton Frank and Bob Seger.

  6. I see some other people noted that it is based on items you already own. really; you don’t need to justify yourself to us. besides, some of us might actually dig boys who are down with the ladies and maybe also a fella or two. -snicker-

  7. They didn’t recommend it so much so you can make him your man crush. They recommended it so you could aspire to be like him. Which, quite frankly, all men should do.
